About FishingKev

I enjoy fishing and studying the truth that is given to us in God’s Word, the Bible. Having recommitted my life to Jesus in 2001 I have been on a journey for the past twenty years trying to figure out my role in the Kingdom of God.

Follow me on my journey as we stumble along seeking to find our place here on earth, living in and for the Kingdom God.

The Dream Giver Bruce Wilkinson

“Ordinary ran all the way to his Usual Job, his Dream pounding hard in his chest. As soon as he saw Best Friend, Ordinary blurted out the news: “That Big Dream I told you about— I’ve decided to pursue it!” Best Friend looked concerned. “You know as well as I do that Nobodies who pursue their Dreams leave Familiar,” he said. “They set off like fools into the Unknown, in search of a place where—” “Yes, yes I know,” Ordinary broke in, “and I can’t wait to get started.”  ……

The Kingdom of God is here, now. No not the final destination for creation, but an active, vibrant place God is at work each and every second of every day. Though most of his work may not be discernible to us, we may catch glimpses and marvel at the different aspects of God. What do I believe that God’s Kingdom is mostly about? God wants to have a personal relationship with us. That is why Jesus came, lived, died on a cross and rose on the third day. God loves us and wants to have a personal relationship with us….. As many peoples as there are, is as many ways God has ways to connect with them. (Why am I using “peoples?”) Mostly God uses us imperfect, broken people to reach other imperfect people. He will not rest until all groups of people, “peoples”, are reached and given a chance to have this relationship. So what about you? Don’t you want to see if it is possible to have a personal relationship with God?  Just ask God! You see if you ask you will be answered. (Although not the way we expect.) What questions do you have? If you are seeking real truth, then I challenge you to look at the ultimate truth, God’s Word, the Bible.

Updated July 2017

After stumbling around since 2010 trying to respond to God’s call on my life, I am excited to say July 1st, 2017 I leave ordinary once again as I begin as a UMC Pastor of the Blades/Asbury Charge in Seaford, DE. I am excited to be a part of what God has planned!

Updated May 2021

2020 was a year like none other in our lives. I was blessed in my faithfulness by the people I shepherd in the churches I have served since 2017. I had made the decision to leave my secular job some time in the coming year. This became much eaiser when I was asked to take on the care of a third church. Beginning January 1st, 2021 I started serving as Pastor for Portsville United Methodist Church. I am excited to continue the journey I began so many years ago.

**What I post here are my own opinions and do not represent the churches I currently serve.
