FishingKevhttp://fishingfortruth.blogHave crept into the internet and found a landing place for my thoughts. When not cruising around the web I enjoy surf fishing and exploring the outdoors around our new location, Millsboro, De. Husband of Daphne for over 37 years and proud father of two terrific daughters, Sheila and Jessica, who has blessed us with five grandchildren. Now I am pursuing my Dream to become a better servant in God's Kingdom......
"The Dream Giver" Bruce Wilkinson....
"Ordinary ran all the way to his Usual Job, his Dream pounding hard in his chest. As soon as he saw Best Friend, Ordinary blurted out the news: "That Big Dream I told you about--- I've decided to pursue it!" Best Friend looked concerned. "You know as well as I do that Nobodies who pursue their Dreams leave Familiar," he said. "They set off like fools into the Unknown, in search of a place where---" "Yes, yes I know," Ordinary broke in, "and I can't wait to get started."
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Last Sunday of Advent. Week 4 of Songs of the Season.
We learn to trust in God by growing our relationship with Jesus. Spend time reading the stories of Jesus found in the four Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Spend time talking with Jesus in prayer… Relationships only grow as we invest time in them. Our purpose in life is first to joyfully embrace this friendship with God .
